The Holiday Inn Golden Gateway is a first-class hotel located in the center of downtown San Francisco and just steps away from the California Cable Car turnaround. The 26-story, 499-room hotel offers fantastic city views and it is close to everything San Francisco has to offer: 2 miles southeast of the Golden Gate Bridge, 1 mile south of Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39, 1 mile west of the shopping in Union Square and 1 mile north of City Hall/Civic Center. Situated in the upscale, Pacific Heights neighborhood, all the guest rooms were completely renovated in Spring of 2001. A restaurant and lounge is located on the lobby level. For recreation, the hotel offers an exercise room and outdoor heated pool (hard to find San Francisco). Abundant shopping, dining and entertainment choices are all within walking distance.

The guestrooms have a traditional decor with fantastic views of the bay and the city. Complete room renovation was completed Spring 2001 and the guest rooms begin on the 6th floor. The onsite restaurant serves a full American breakfast buffet (for a charge), as well as California cuisine for lunch and dinner. Pizza Hut pizza served in the restaurant and room service is available for dinner only. The hotel even has its own self-park garage (Height limit 5'11") located onsite at a current rate of $25 per night (subject to change without notice). The Holiday Inn Golden Gateway is just steps from fine dining, shopping and entertainment venues.

The sixth-floor outdoor lap pool has a view of Nob Hill and the bay, and a basement-level fitness center has 24-hour room-key access, free and universal weights, treadmills, stationary bikes, and a stair machine. The hotel has a gift shop that doubles as a concierge service for tours, concert tickets, and restaurant reservations. The business center in the lobby has a computer with high-speed Internet access (surcharge), printer, and fax (surcharge). The hotel also offers 18,000 square feet of event space.
