Guestrooms are located in either the historic main building (956 rooms on floors 3-12, built 1904-1913), or the modern tower (581 rooms on floors 4-30, built in 1972), accessed via separate elevator banks. Rooms in the main building vary in size, but all feature street or courtyard views, chandeliers, ornate woodwork, period-style furniture, gold-framed mirrors, elaborate drapery, and Heavenly Beds with pillow-top mattresses, 250-thread-count sheets, and down comforters and pillows. Tower rooms all have Heavenly Beds and Baths. The Heavenly Bed consists of a custom-designed, pillowtop mattress with all-white bedding, triple sheeting, down blanket, comforter and duvet, and five goosedown/feather pillows.
